Today, so many PET bottles are produced
each year around the world, and not all are recycled.
Some are thrown away in cities and fields, and some flow into rivers and oceans.
Others are burnt as waste, releasing CO2 into the atmosphere.
Today, a large amount of garments and textile products are produced around the world.
Most lint waste and fabric offcuts produced during the production process are incinerated or disposed of in landfills, which increases the environmental impact.
We will continue to need plastics and polyester fibers,
so we should think about ways to recycle them as resources.
Let’s create polyester fibers that can coexist with the Earth.
To that end, ECOPET® will continue to evolve.
Flow Recycling process
The Teijin Group focuses on the environmental business. By making the most of the latest technologies, we produce a wide variety of eco-friendly materials that contribute to solving environmental problems, including resource depletion, increased CO2 emissions, and environmental pollution.
Used PET bottles, and polyester fiber waste and garments, traditionally disposed of as waste, are transformed into recycled polyester, ECOPET® through mechanical recycling and chemical recycling processes, respectively.

feature01 A variety of raw materials
While ECOPET® is produced by recycling, its quality is as good as virgin products. Moreover, we offer not only ordinary raw materials, but also a wide variety of raw materials types including materials with different function and comfort values with high sweat-absorbing, quick-drying, and moisture-retaining properties. We also offer sensitive materials that are unique in fluffiness, elasticity, firmness, softness, and appearance.

The requirements of clothing, daily goods, or industrial materials may differ from customer to customer and may change from day to day. In an effort to meet a variety of customer needs, environmentally friendly ECOPET® evolves and offers solutions every day by leveraging the capabilities of Teijin Frontier Co., Ltd. to develop and process raw materials.
feature03 Contributing to the Global Environment
ECOPET® is created by recycling unnecessary and discarded goods and contributes to the reduction of waste. Moreover, while polyester was originally made from petroleum, which is a fossil fuel, ECOPET® is made from discarded PET bottles, garments, and waste produced through production processes, and therefore contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
Initiatives CO2 reduction effects of ECOPET®
TLC3 calculates the CO2 emissions from raw yarn, staple fiber, nonwoven fabric and textile based on the data from manufacturing factories. (As of November 2022) The reduction effects vary depending on a variety of different conditions. For more information, please contact us separately.
